Opium fields
You know I strode
through opium fields
and so carefully I strode
with each and every thought
and carefully I thought
with each and every thought
perhaps this is the place to be
filled with her charm and possibilities
together we swooned as lovers
for my heart melts into a river of gold
her ashen beauty....well
its shines a light and
opens up a burning hole in my soul
what lovers get up to
in the dark corners of the heart
its not for me to tell
its for you to find out
but her wind soon turns cold
and the sky freezes over
I'm blind,
guided by the hand of temptation
in her darkness,
my senses are saturated
she like diamonds falling through your fingers
a broken piston in my nervous system
everything she says is coy and suggestive
she may have my number
but I saw something in her eyes
that could of been my murder
her sister, amphetamine
soul mates with dopamine
they kiss like sisters
but lets not mention that awful serotonin
in the first frost of may
I was nestled in her bosom in a opiate haze
but the truth is she's ruthless
she cant be contained
her long lost friend is ecstasy
she wont be seen till the first dawn of spring
her chemical makeup
is the D.N.A of love
I'm not speaking as a man who is sane
I laid my cut of flowers and wept beside her grave
for now she is gone
banished from my life
but the frost has yet to thaw
and the sun doesn't bring me light
through opium fields
and so carefully I strode
with each and every thought
and carefully I thought
with each and every thought
perhaps this is the place to be
filled with her charm and possibilities
together we swooned as lovers
for my heart melts into a river of gold
her ashen beauty....well
