Image for the poem Eden

Eden's Realm

If I could see all of you
echoes of Eden’s realm
innocent before our eyes
before the serpent came
I’d know you as you are
without the later shame
I’d see you with no need
of fruit from the tabu tree
our bodies arrayed without
souls stripped in the fore
with flawless blemish shown
too numerous to count
tarnish hidden no more
perfection in their sum
when the masks are dropped
judgment sees the like
where the struggles join
tossed against wall of life
matched bruise is the link
made dull by admission
healed in the sight of each
when we walk in Eden’s realm.
