Beautiful Tragedy

Two caterpillars headed their own way meet at on the ground exchanged glances words agreement and decided to move up the tree together.

They ate, talked and loved each other like there was just them, none other.
Until it was time to set and cocoon themselves, for the next stage of development.

They both had their silky cocoons formed and went in for the process it took a long time but it would all be worth it.

Finally the day came, one shook, and a beautiful creature emerged. He felt different moved differently went gliding and returned.

He looked around and saw his friend's cocoon with different eyes. He didn't wait long enough to see his friend needed his gentle help and understanding.

There was an awakening, a rustling, a shaking, but no emerging, in her cocoon she felt differently. Knew she was different. She pushed, she called, she tugged, she tried fighting her way out, but lost all hope strength and energy.

What was there to come out to? Who was there to come out to? Where would she belong in this changed world? Her thoughts went back to her friend he had left her, he wasn't there. Not for assistance morale nor emotional support.

He was gone, her dreams and hopes had fluttered by while she was in the process of changing. She felt a surge, a shock,  a burst of electricity from within it exploded      bursting her and her silky cocoon asunder.

The beautiful blue yellow and white wings accentuated by pink and black edging, lay on the   ground lifeless, never to have seen herself and her true beauty in this new body.

Confusion, frustration, disappointment and despair mixed with fear of the imminent loss of something so great was too much for her little beating heart to take. She gave up all hope, all dream, and like a witch being burnt at the stake she died,  exploded not from without but within.
