THE ORPHANED POEM.
I have lost money
I have lost valuables
I have lost material possessions
Yet when I lost a poem
Which I had loved
Held close to my heart
It was a loss
A grief, Irrevocable
For never can I write
The poem again
With the same passion
With which I had it written
Never can it
Ever be the original
Indeed I am lost
In the memories
Of the poem
I had cosseted
And pampered
And nourished
Lying about
Like an orphaned child
In search for her roots
Helplessly
Looking for her mother
She never had the providence
To love , nurture and treasure.
