Silence
by gentlegirl
Silence is so deafening
can't even hear my mind
heartbeats sound as drums
running to leave behind
My mind is overflowing
to empty I wish to do
as with a carton of milk
you throw away when through
I hear the darkness even
without a sound it makes
its trying to get in
this feeling I can't shake
Lightening bugs are few now
the coolness of the night
has taught them to disappear
not showing their beautiful light
Fall has come upon us
Summer now in our past
Before we can enjoy it
Winter will be here fast
I love the Fall though it is sad
with dying leaves and such
but beautiful in its own way
cool air our breath does touch
Glistening on the leaves and grass
the frozen dew of Fall
diamonds all a glitter
twinkling for us all
Leaves have died and falling down
to gather one must do
but all the beautiful colors
a bouquet I'd make or two
The squirrels are out scampering
to hide and store their food
before the trees are barren
and soon stand in their nude
Summer grass no more needs mowing
its growing time has ceased
only the burning of leaves
that aroma is now released
The fireplaces soon to be lit
to mask the chill of air
as blankets cover the beds
to snuggle without care
But back to the silence now
as early morning reins
there is no sound around me
only my heart feels pain.
One day I will sing again
of joy and no more tears
no worries or cares befall me
my time for Heaven nears
Silence is so deafening
can't even hear my mind
heartbeats sound as drums
running to leave behind
My mind is overflowing
to empty I wish to do
as with a carton of milk
you throw away when through
I hear the darkness even
without a sound it makes
its trying to get in
this feeling I can't shake
Lightening bugs are few now
