“Fragments of my Heart (Adiós mi Ángel el Amore)”

These fragments of my heart shattered and scattered around the floor
Like a map navigating passage through
The streams and rivers of tears and blood,
Unsafe terrain of Memory Lane.
Each piece, a piercing dagger that cuts and slices further
Until it can stab no deeper.
My vision blurs, my breath grows shallow, and my mind slips away.
Despite myself I can’t help but remember
The memories I once treasured with the biggest of smiles of our year together
That now leave me with these fragments of my heart
Shattered and scattered around the floor.
I wish there was a map to help navigate through these turbid waters.
For this voyage of life alone is uncharted and foreign,
Forced upon with vacant action to forewarn
I will cast sail, and sail on unto new lands worry not my friend.
