Self Intoxicated

I once dreamt of you in an opium daze
as i drifted with the violet synthetics
you appeared before me, such an effulgent sight
floating amongst the stars
but your pure sapphire eyes scorched with every gaze
an imprint upon my vacant soul
somewhere i found the power to shatter the paralysis,
i reached to your vicinity in a hypnotic state
racing and screaming your name
but nothing departed my swollen lips
everything was muted
suddenly we were so close, i reached to touch your face
with on sharp embrace you disintegrated
right before my eyes
you shattered, just like before
you crumbled
with one final glance, i was alone again
as i realized i always shall be.
