colima
the stars in the sky
just hang there over it all
like embers blown from a bonfire.
we used to be stars, you know.
the stars of the valley are pretty.
but unnecessary.
like christmas decor in june.
i'm on colima
trudging toward the constellation whittier.
sending a makeshift prayer
to lambert and gunn.
like teeth
pushing into the wrong set of tumblers.
the wrong star.
the wrong sky.
the wrong everything.
just hang there over it all
like embers blown from a bonfire.
we used to be stars, you know.
the stars of the valley are pretty.
but unnecessary.
like christmas decor in june.
i'm on colima
trudging toward the constellation whittier.
sending a makeshift prayer
to lambert and gunn.
like teeth
pushing into the wrong set of tumblers.
the wrong star.
the wrong sky.
the wrong everything.
