Summer Smiles
She loves to smile at him each summer day;
While night and autumn allow her to tease
Spring may be pleasant for a quiet foray,
And winter means her warming will so please
Him; let the blades of sunset just perform:
And let dusk's blinds come down; facilitate
The need that, with encouragement, can storm
The night away, so she won’t have to wait
For celebrations with the brightening sky
That dawn will bring with its sequestered heat
To steal her to his bed, where she can sigh
And feel her dark night has been so complete;
Thought when it's light again, she’ll not disguise
Her summer smile through which she'll idolize.
While night and autumn allow her to tease
Spring may be pleasant for a quiet foray,
And winter means her warming will so please
Him; let the blades of sunset just perform:
And let dusk's blinds come down; facilitate
The need that, with encouragement, can storm
The night away, so she won’t have to wait
For celebrations with the brightening sky
That dawn will bring with its sequestered heat
To steal her to his bed, where she can sigh
And feel her dark night has been so complete;
Thought when it's light again, she’ll not disguise
Her summer smile through which she'll idolize.
