Dearly Departed

Dearly departed, condolences in your demise,
If only I had the chance to look in your eyes;
As death whistled closer and took you away,
As you left the earth like the light of day.

Dearly departed, there’s words I cannot speak;
No one shall ever see the tears stains on my cheek.
Forgive me; please let my sins go,
Your memory so dear, I promise to always hold.

Dearly departed, a piece of me is gone;
Like tearing done the walls of a broken home.
Naked and unsheltered; I feel alone,
I still can’t seem to come to terms with the fact that you’re gone.

“It’s a part of life.” lies I tell myself,
These haunting memories; I will never forget.
Let me join you, don’t be so cruel as to turn me away,
I can’t bear it, this is more than pain.

Dearly departed, if tears are consolations then the ocean is mine,
If words are admittance then I’m a fucking mime,
If scars tell a story then I’m a bloody tale,
If sadness is punishment then I’m burning in hell.
