Face to face with the girl in the mirror
Something not quite right,
an untreatable error.
She didn't turn out, like I had imagined
Her soul, it trembles,
blackened, beaten & bludgeoned.
Innocence lost to developmental naivety
Residual trauma still visible,
like a kaleidoscope of inequity.
Anger pulses, from every thread of her fabric
Woven with complexity,
a metaphorical straight jacket.
Darkness thrust into her, like an air bubble into an IV
By those who vowed to save her,
a sociopath with a P.H.D
A cold, shaking hand, her only true saviour
A cold, silver promise,
placed upon torn up paper
A blood stained envelope, her future was inside this,
One word, her death sentence
DIAGNOSIS

Very beautifully describing what is all too often a practised evil. Inside the skin of every body is a human being with a soul. We are not cases. Great write!

Thank you Timid! It's a well accepted and well documented act of psychological & physical abuse. People so caught up with animal testing Seem to gloss over the human Guinea pigs.

It's very true. We need far more advocates for humans than we have at present. Every voice makes a difference. I'm glad you are adding yours so eloquently...especially as yours is the voice of true experience. Keep it up! Keep it strong!

A relatable piece that even in the darkness of the lines you feel it and understand it and that is what brings it light.... Labels is a hard thing for someone to live with, whether it is a label society puts on a person or a label you might attach to yourself... Nice write.

Thank you BSavvy :) your kind words lift my spirits. Yes labels are hard to live with, especially when people insist on pigeonholing you becauseof them. You lose your identity, become a number, patient 34698. It's terrible but it's a part of life, we jut spread awareness and eradicate the ignorance surrounding it.
