Without God
Without god;
There would be a lot less hatred in the world
Much less religious intolerance and bigotry
A lot less hate crimes and hate speak
Without god;
There would be much less death
Less invasions and wars
Less assassinations and overthrows
Less terrorism and jihad
God blessed armies
God blessed bombs
Less people being burned at the stake
Less people being crucified
Less people being beheaded
Less people being tortured
Less people being drowned
Without god;
Nobody would need to live under the gun
Under threat of eternal torture
Fire and brimstone
Gnashing of teeth
And all from a god
The calls himself the god of love
Without god;
We might finally learn what
Love really is
We might learn to take care
Of each other
If it was a democratic vote
I’d definitely vote
For a world without god
And for that opinion
The god of love
Will ensure
That I will burn
forever
There would be a lot less hatred in the world
Much less religious intolerance and bigotry
A lot less hate crimes and hate speak
Without god;
There would be much less death
Less invasions and wars
Less assassinations and overthrows

I just love it when people sit on the fence when making constructive comments - now what exactly is fucking boring? Is it the poem? is it the poet? is it the point of view expressed? Did I offend your imaginary friend? Did I offend you? - your comment, on the surface seems offensive and I must read it as such because you have chosen not to explain what you mean.
"do you have any other channels?" - again, WTF does that actually mean? are we talking TV channels, Youtube Channels, the English channel, Chanel No5?????
Please explain yourself!

Wow! what a diatribe - you really are a rude individual - I am staggered by your ignorance, you don't know me, how dare you talk to me in that manner - I don't know who you think you are you apart from an ignorant lunatic - nothing of what you said still makes any sense maybe you should stop smoking what your smoking or maybe drink a little less - you need to go to critique 101 and learn some manners and humility - you are probably one of those keyboard heroes, a lonely waste of skin with nothing better to do.
I am done with you you don't even deserve this response - you're probably beyond help

Atheist you are David... :)
I tend to believe it is humans who have fucked up and use the notion/belief of God as their excuse for doing so...
I did enjoy the read...

I am actually an anti-theist, that's like an atheist on crack (lol) - I agree, the god excuse doesn't cut it with me. To me god is just a human invention hence it is flawed. For many it is just a way of getting away with the bad things they do by blaming god or the devil :-}

Yeshua got nailed to a tree to teach us the lesson that no one likes a 'know-it-all'
And the fact is why is X a Christian or Y a Muslim. .cos 99.9% of the time it's not about choice but wot your parents decided and location...therefore is blind faith

yeah you got a point, I suppose we are really all victims of where the stork dropped us, that and humanity's need for a God concept - I have never came up with a solution try as I might - I suppose I will come up with something once I am dead :-)

Religion requires faith, but faith does not require religion
i can believe in my god and yet refrain from religion
Men make war because they enjoy it
If they didn't have god, money or land to fight over
they would just invent some other excuse
My opinion of course
It's a touchy subject my friend
You were bound to catch some flack
i do like your bravery though and for that you get a like
we don't always have to agree to remain on good terms
i hope

how boring would life be if we all agreed with each other - however it is the way we handle our disagreements that makes all the difference. The poem was inspired by another poet who wrote a poem of the same name but from the opposite stance. I do not think any less of him as a person and I hope they feel the same way. I can only come up with solutions for myself and hope that people get that.
I am so glad that you get it and can't envisage us not being friends over the content of any poem :-)

I LOL'd at a certain something (not your content). Just... wow. That aside, enjoyed the read. It's definitely sad and also really frustrating that humans use God/religion as an excuse to justify terrible actions. Seems we can think of all kinds of depressing reasons to act unkindly toward one another, this is just the most widely used.
I liked the ending because it's accurate and touches on what I could never comprehend about God and my reason as a kid for backing away from religion. Strict guidelines and conditions to be loved... nah. Force and fear never sat well with me and didn't at all fit my definition of love.

My stance, in this world of mine I want it all. Every emotion, various viewpoints, any and everything I've only read about to learn and teach myselves, a sense of normalcy. Ever hear fake it till you make it? Well that's what I intend to do come hell or high water. FreyaJ, you said it, blind faith. To believe in something bigger than my demons. I'm not a bible thumper nor attend church. I enjoy people and their inner cogs. People fascinate me. The way I see it is we all were gifted with free will, choice if you will. There in lies our problem, an individual makes the decision to use it as he or she sees fit. When a couple are blessed and gifted with a child, they can either destroy or love and lift up. Thier choice. Also, I don't believe in fire nor brimstone. I believe heaven or hell is an individual's personal belief of happiness or payment due because of choices made. I don't care if it's a damn doorknob, as long as it's a blind leap of faith and believe that doorknob will open or close doors in life. David, I love your spark, communication should build bridges not start wars. Congratulations on this work of art. If people communicated instead of getting pissed off simply because of different viewpoints, hell can you see the magnitude of hate and how it spreads. I know I know I'm such a nut. But think about the opportunity that just flew out the window or what might've even been achieved. Is mutual respect that far gone? This one my dearest friend I think i'll keep. Thanx for the adrenaline rush,
