The Meeting Two (part 2 )
“...but father, I want to have him as a pet,” Jane complained. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to convince Aro to let her keep him as a friend, but she might just be able to to convince her father to let her keep Demetri as a pet.
“No,” Aro said forcefully, “I need him for my experiments.”
“Father,” Jane pleaded, “Aren't there a million humans of his age and gender that you could use?
“Yes!” Aro gulped. Jane knew in that one moment that Aro was lying, that there was something special about Demetri. She realized that she had him figuratively in a corner. He would either have to explain why Demetri was so special ( which she believed had to do with his scent ) or let her keep him.
“What’s so special about this one that I can't have it, why is it more important than me?” she pouted, making it a choice of what was more important in his life.
“Fine, you can have him, if you change him when he comes of age!” Aro bellowed.
“Okay,” she said forcing herself to skip out of the room like a carefree child her father expected her to be.
