Now we say all our goodbyes
and hoping this will reach the skies
you now join the angels in peace
and now these balloons we will release
hoping that they reach the heavens above

I love epitaphs soooo much! I think they're a very underrated form of poetry...;)
Sweet and gentle thoughts nicely expressed, gc. I hope that someone would write such generous lines to me after I'm gone. Your friend, Courtney, was fortunate to have such a good friend.
Couple of tiny editing points - ignore if you wish:
l.1: 'goodbyies' is spelt 'goodbyes'
l.4: 'this balloons' - either 'this balloon' or 'these balloons'
l.5: if you leave out the word 'will', the rhythm of the line is better: 'hoping that they reach the heavens above'.
