God's Prayer

God prays in the twilight
In the mist His children cannot see;
So weak and of withered flight
In the pages of His story.

Rosary beads beneath the sky
On the plagued breasts lie
Their eyes welcome a silver ray
Where the pennies lay.

Here at last the blind can see
But sheltered is their sight,
For the sun has dimmed eternally
And no rays bless the night.

There is a kiss from under the bed
Where the tears and atrocities reside
Safer now to embrace our dread
When the fairytale is swept aside.

Put out the lonely candle, please
Such gold is too like a tear
Dancing to our own on the breeze
The flame pains our silence dear

And God prays to our veil
As we the hymns of old grieve
Praying to our ears a holier tale
And begs we might believe.

We witnessed the tears of fire
Down that desperate face roll,
Heard behind Him the eternal choir
Welcome us to a newer soul.

His hands trembled in mine,
And He wept to see my care
As above in a celestial line
The seraph swept away despair.

Tell me—tell me a story
And please leave the light on
Tell  me—tell me of the glory
Of Judgment Day’s black dawn.
