My Disarray

So here we sit with an honest look in our eyes.
The awkwardness of the moment illuminates the truths that spew from our mouths.
We know what we had and this silence is killing me now.
The hate in your eyes is reflected in mine.
What a passionate animosity we have.
How did it come to this?
How did it come to the fact that we can no longer stand to see each other?
As days go on the impatience we have for one another is excruciating.
I cannot stand to stay in your presence for even the smallest amount of time.
I hate you now, more than I’ve ever hated anything.
You make my life a living hell as I make yours.
Yet through this resentment,
I still need you.
