I love the contemplative/observational nature of the first two lines and how they contrast to the subjective, almost approving nature of the last. It made me picture an old black and white photo with the only color being her Ruby red lips. Great write.

Thank you so much, moe, for your very welcome thoughts on this piece. Lately colleagues and I talked about that kind of girls and the haiku was forming :-). I'm glad you can picture what I've been trying to convey :-).

Miss Chi,
We all have unique definitions of classy. I think kindness is perhaps one of the classiest attributes one can possess. Brava super-classy poet!

*blush* :-). Thank you very much, Gahddess_Worship. I feel honored by your wonderful comment! When I think of a classy girl, I think about pearls and cashmere jumpers and pencil skirts :-). Don't know why. But you are right, there's an inner classiness that might be defined by kindness and thoughtfulness. You made me think beyond the surface of a human being ...

If I were a man, I'd kiss those lips; color doesn't last forever. . .Excellent, Lady Chi. . .~Devlin.

Color doesn't last forever but kisses linger on our lips and in our minds.
Thank you, Devlin!

As usual with your senryu the three lines evoke limitless vistas and timeless portraits--the mark of a true 5-7-5 GENIUS.

Isn't sassy what many men would look for?
I think classy and sassy don't rule each other out :-).
Thank you, Poe, for your sassy comment!

This made me smile because I've just read "porn for the world" by DUP poet John Feddler ... You've both hit the same note in a familiar melody, like two jazz singers signing a great standard, on different stages, offering your own riffs ...
Bravo!

I will instantly read JohnFeddeler's poem!
I thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful words, Lobo, and I'm humbled you mentioned my name in the same breath with John's who is quite a different league and whom I very much adore, like quite a number of other poets on DU :-).
