Forgotten Soul
The dreams of their past crumble
before them with each passing day
I am not saying that they have given
up on life, but simply that they have
abandoned their universal youthful
ambitions for a simpler repetitive
robotic mind to guide their tired soul.
I see them every day, staining the
fender on my car as they walk blindly
in front of it, drinking the blood from the
tooth marks on my fist as I stare in bliss
at a fool with a phone playing Tetris
Thank you for filling this empty hole
now continue to sleep
forgotten soul
before them with each passing day
