This woman I see
Staring at me across the way
So close yet so far away
With only a pane of fragileness
To protect me from her gaze
Every feature, so familiar
Her face, etched in my memory
Yet her gaze I know not
In her eyes, I see a stranger
One with a soul of ice
But this stranger is familiar
Her darkness is known to me
For I see her everyday
She, my other self
She who hides behind the glass
A mere reflection in our world
She is my darkness
She is my madness
She is a nightmare in its truest form
Hiding in wait, in realms unknown
Enclosed by its walls
But the walls are so fragile
So easy to crack and break and shatter
And then she will come
That child of shadows
Come she will, to reverse our roles
Then she will stand, strong and true
And I will be but a reflection
Lying in wait, for a crack in the pane
Staring at me across the way
So close yet so far away
With only a pane of fragileness
To protect me from her gaze
Every feature, so familiar
Her face, etched in my memory
Yet her gaze I know not
In her eyes, I see a stranger
One with a soul of ice
But this stranger is familiar
Her darkness is known to me
For I see her everyday
She, my other self
She who hides behind the glass
A mere reflection in our world
She is my darkness
She is my madness
She is a nightmare in its truest form
Hiding in wait, in realms unknown
Enclosed by its walls
But the walls are so fragile
So easy to crack and break and shatter
And then she will come
That child of shadows
Come she will, to reverse our roles
Then she will stand, strong and true
And I will be but a reflection
Lying in wait, for a crack in the pane
