Dragons to Fight

Life's a story they say
We're characters to play
Well let me tell you
There's side characters too

We can't all be protagonists
And lonely antagonists

The heroine is pretty
The traitor tricky
The hero is dashing
The villain ever clashing

But there's friends
And those that meet an untimely end

So who will fill those positions
And meet the story's conditions
I'll tell you now
Before the credits roll and we take a bow

There's no clear line between wrong and right
There's certainly no dragons to fight

So take your magic elsewhere
Your holy skills out of here
The world is not in need of your saving
This world is for the side character's taking

This time it's a different story
One without the hero's glory
