broken words

I watched her tear herself apart
I watched her slowly drown away
I watched her own words be her destruction
I watched as shed tell me she loved me
I watched as she would smile through pain
I watched as shed tell me to leave her alone
I watched and when I did she was happy
I watched and when i did shed be close to me
I watched and I was hoping shed wait
I watched as she broke down in tears
I watched as she faded into darkness
But even after all that has been said
  I watched her smile as id say
                  "i love you"
