The Lunch Club
We have melted soles from walking through hell
It is the same sad story that The Lunch Club will tell
Tales of hearing the he-said she-said
Or being called dread heads bed heads and med heads
Mistreated but never defeated
Thinking that it'll get better with no basis
While strange eyes break us down to our fundamental basics
The Young Mothers
The Blood Brothers
The ring bearing black wearing Steel Skulls
The China Shops and The Bulls
Princesses and Basket Cases
All thinking that it'll get better with no basis
You see people think that we've lost our minds
Because we smile in the dark like the sun still shines
When really there's a badly kept secret
That I'll tell you if you promise not keep it
Life on your own is hard
So hard that some choose to discard
Leaving the rest of us charred or in shards
But we're still in charge
The Lunch Club will still meet
Unknown to defeat
Giving the downtrodden everything that they've never gotten
Like a hug
Or a smile
Or a cup of tea
And an offer to stay a while
People think that we're going nowhere
That we're stuck in some sort of dark stasis
But I say we're the only sane ones left
Thinking it will get better with no basis
