The Passages of Time

Walking along
Listening to the same ol song
Thinking about life
And all the strife
Trying to figure out where my life is going
Hoping that this all leads to something
My future I wish to defend
Looking for it to never end
Trying to find my route to the clouds
Removing myself from all these hectic sounds
All this grief and pain
Could drive anyone insane
Then there was her
And I knew everything was set forever

Long and shiny was her hair
So beautiful I cannot bear
Her eyes seem to explode like a supernova
I swear that I could be with her foreva
That smile takes the breath from me
How can this be
And the laugh from my dove
Is like an Angel's song to me from above
Paired with her skin
So smooth and fair it should be sin

I swear it's love
The thing from fairytales, I can't get enough
Dreading the day my adversary will take her from me
And for this reason I plea

Time is such a true and horrid being
It leaves me seething
Taking from me all there ever was
Without so much as a warning, or a pause
What an unholy and just creation it is
So much that I must desist
No one can truly fight the power of time
And thus, my adversary gives the final sign

This if nothing like it should've been
Even with the ways of Zen
I can't seem to understand
It should have been mighty grand
But all I see is an endless black field
My memories are slipping and from a source I cannot shield
