Wild Wives

If wives are wild about them from the first;  
And amorous servility dictates  
Effusive and vivacious love, that makes  
Their husbands feel adored; this is the worst  
Uxorious love can lead one to; rehearsed,  
Then such encounters can ensure that spates  
Of soured divorce decrease all those debates;  
And, in the silence, lips are slowly pursed:  
Such disapproving looks, with neither kiss  
Nor caress to sustain fresher delight;  
Or soften disagreements - these seem mild;  
But these will grow and become an abyss  
To tear spouses apart both day and night,  
If they forget the days when wives were wild…
