I didn't walk down the street that night
I didn't walk alone
I didn't leave my phone  
I didn't forget my keys
I didn't forget to look behind me
I didn't go out after dark
He didn't find me by myself
Except I did walk down that street
I did walk home alone
I did leave my phone
I did forget my keys
I did forget to look behind me
I did go out after dark
He did find me by myself
And now I pay the price
I wish I could say I didn't go out I stayed at home
I wish I could say I didn't trust him
But I did and now I know
He didn't love me
He didn't want me
He didn't care for me
He took what I had left
And smashed it on the path
He left me
