THIS pauper has been truly broken,
HEART, body, and mind,
EVER vigilant, he keeps a token...
QUIETLY his dreams unwind.
UNFOLDING all of the hopes he kept,
ELEGANTLY he aptly composes.
EFFORTLESSLY...the tears he wept,
NOW nurture the blood red roses.
AWAITING his Queen's sworn return,
NOTHING can sway his heart.
DEFINITE, his resolve will burn,
TRYING to keep from falling apart.
HONORABLY, he kept her flowers,
EVEN after all of this time.
PLACIDLY, he counts the hours,
ALLOCATING his love into rhyme.
UNAWARE...that his queen has died,
PATIENTLY, he hopes for the best.
ETERNALLY, he sat, wallowed, and sighed,
RELUCTANT he waits...even in death...
