COVETOUS

I wish I could get inside your mind
An iota of my thoughts in you I seek to find
I wish I could influence your desires and emotion
I will make your heart gravitate towards my direction
I wish I could be what your dreams are made of
I will give you all of me; I bet you will never get enough
 
I wish my words mean more than just a poem to you
This is my true confession, "I love you” believe me its true
I wish my heart could speak what my lips fail to describe
Your beauty is second to none; you mesmerize me inside
I wish love is fair, the wishes I make, you will do the same
I wish I could make you see, true love exists I ain’t out for games
 
On a sad note I wish you were not involved with someone else
It hurts coz you are with another man I’m jealous I can’t help myself
I wish I could take his place, don’t get me twisted, I mean no harm
I wish I had found you before he did, I wish he missed your charm
I wish I could change his mind but I know it will hurt your heart
Though I can’t have you, I don’t pray your relationship falls apart
 
I want the best for you even though I’m not the man by your side
Am glad you are happy though my wishes about you I can’t hide
The truth is our heart desires cannot be tamed even when we try
It hurts seeing someone you love; loving someone else it’s no lie
Pain is living with the fact that my wishes may never come true
Just in case something happens along the line between you two
 
Just know that in my heart there’s always a place for you.
