A Tiger's Tale
One day, deep in the jungle, a great tiger, a beautiful lemur
and a dusty armadillo set off on a small journey
to hear a chorus of songbirds sing to an animal audience
The lemur procured the services of the tiger for protection
as her normal safety zone was far up in the trees and her friend
rarely ventured out in the open for such long distances
The little armadillo was very excited to go and be in such kind company
She had little to offer at the time but was assured a good time
The tiger had never seen such a curious and strange little creature
The lemur knew the way and led, occasionally riding on the tiger as
the manic armadillo kept them entertained with constant chatter
as she scurried along side of her travel companions
The ensemble of collective performers were grouped into four sets
and each rendered distinct styles with the last anticipated the most
The lead bird sang like an artist on the brink of madness
Throughout the presentation the eccentric armadillo ran about the place
talking to strangers, meeting singers and borrowing from the tiger
to purchase intoxicating drinks and expensive souvenirs of the event
After the show the three made the long trek back to their jungle home
Looking into the lemur's beautiful eyes the armadillo gave great thanks
She also expressed her gratitude to the tiger, promising to repay him
Time passed and the tiger never heard from the armadillo again
Perhaps it had rolled up into the safety and comfort of it's shell
Perhaps the tiger had overestimated the friendship he thought he made
But the tiger's place is not to worry and wonder and anguish...
just to accept that animals are rarely how they present themselves
and some do what they need to to survive, at the expense of others
