Holding On (why to hold on Comp)
Ok! Ok! Just let me think
Give me a few moments
To collect together my thoughts
This isn’t as easy as you think
I suppose I could lie to you
Make up nonsensical reasons
You’re loved by your family
You’re not – they hate you
You’ll be missed by many
You wont – nobody cares
You’ll go to hell if you do
You won’t – there is no hell
Things are bound to get better
Things are about to get worse
There’s plenty more fish in the sea
There isn’t – the seas are over fished
All you need is a positive mental attitude
You need way much more than that
I cannot offer you glassy lies
You would see through them
You and I, my friend
Were born into the wrong
Corner of the trailer park
We were born into nothing
And we are both going nowhere
We could only manage to become
And live the life of our parents
Alcohol and drug fuelled violence
Poverty, pain, heartbreak and tears
It’s what we were born to do
You asked me for reasons to
Hold on to this life we have
Because you could not think of any
Fortunately or unfortunately
I cannot think of any either
In the absence of any real
Worthwhile reason to hold on
Holding on to this life is futile
Let’s not hold on
Let’s just do it
Do it tonight
Do it together
Give me a few moments
To collect together my thoughts
This isn’t as easy as you think
I suppose I could lie to you
Make up nonsensical reasons
You’re loved by your family
You’re not – they hate you
You’ll be missed by many
