Kingdom on a Cloud
It was a long time ago
That I lived upon a cloud
I lived not alone,
For I lived in love's shroud.
Long we would play upon our cloud,
In that kingdom we called home.
Our love was known far and wide,
Even to that far off Rome.
Our love was strong,
It lead our every move.
Our love was true,
We had found our peace filled cove.
But it was doomed not to last,
Down she fell from that cloud.
Pulled from me, by another,
Off of our kingdom on that cloud.
For a long while I blamed myself,
Then I blamed her you see.
But now I understand
That nobody ever has or will love me.
Alone I sit, I never go
Far from my place upon my cloud.
I still check on the one who fell,
Looking down alone, from my kingdom, on my cloud.
That I lived upon a cloud
I lived not alone,
For I lived in love's shroud.
Long we would play upon our cloud,
In that kingdom we called home.
Our love was known far and wide,
Even to that far off Rome.
Our love was strong,
It lead our every move.
Our love was true,
We had found our peace filled cove.
But it was doomed not to last,
Down she fell from that cloud.
Pulled from me, by another,
Off of our kingdom on that cloud.
For a long while I blamed myself,
Then I blamed her you see.
But now I understand
That nobody ever has or will love me.
Alone I sit, I never go
Far from my place upon my cloud.
I still check on the one who fell,
Looking down alone, from my kingdom, on my cloud.
