Never Settling For Less

i try so hard to be the girl you want.
i cover my face in a cloth of makeup and a forced smile
I change my hair every so often, hoping that you notice.
But you never do and the disappointment yanks at my insides, filling me with despair.
i watch the girls you surround yourself with and try to be like them.
But yet again you still do not notice.
I was a bare, naked doll, wanting you to dress me to your liking.
Style my hair.
do whatever you want as long as it catches your attention.
As time went on i noticed you were not a puppetmaster.
You were a fisherman.
In the sea of high schoolm, there are plenty of fishes to be caught.
But even a fisherman has that ideal type of fish that they hope to catch.
Their expectations are high and i guess youre never settling for less.
