No Others

From here on out
I will never love another
as I have loved you.

Not even the man
who I wake up to everyday
and committed my life to
can inspire the longing I have for you.

He and all others
pale in comparison.
To even consider another
feels like the ultimate betrayal
of my heart.

Our love took us by surprise.
a connection forged at the soul,
built upon friendship and mutual admiration.
This bond will never break.

Condemned now to a life
where I will always pine for you,
my lonely heart aches
knowing what we should've been.

I treasure the pieces
of the love you harbor for me,
the sincerity of you words,
the tenderness of your touch.

This is the love I wish I'd waited for.

I want no others.
Only you.
