My Friend

My Friend

Most are scared of you,
but not me.
Without you my friend,
there would be no life.

Death and Life,
you two are partners that I love.
Without you my friend,
we wouldn’t know what we wanted.

I can’t believe,
no one else thinks of you the way I do.
Without you my dear friend,
we would never have our beloved seasons.

Dancing with Death,
such a risky thing.
Without you my friend,
this dance is only half a tango.
Dancing with Life,
is just to easy.

You make us see the good in life,
by limiting it.
Without you my friend,
the birth of my child would not be celebrated.

You take those we love,
for reasons unknown.
Without you my friend,
we would not know the pain of loss.

You make knowing someone worth it.
Without you my friend,
we would never have regrets.

Without you my friend,
our hearts would be to big.
You make us see through the lies.
Without you my friend,
I wouldn’t know what love is.

Without you my friend,
I would never see the light in the day.
You make waking up worth it.
Without you my friend,
I would put myself in danger each day.

Without you my friend,
I would not be the way I am now.
Someday I will join you my dear friend and we will rejoice.
Without you my friend,
I wouldn’t live like today is my last.
