A Picture Painted Black

I remember when we first met, your words flowed through my body.
Your words were like poetry that revived my dead heart.
Your words painted a picture for my body and soul.
They flowed through, with colors like vibrant blues and bright pinks. Filling me with complete and total happiness.
With these colors i painted myself to be the girl you wanted.
A pretty picture.
But as time progressed, your words became vile.
The vibrant blues and bright pinks that ran through my veins and into my heart were begginning to turn to black and red.
This picture was now painted black.
For the new words you spoke no longer filled me with happiness, they filled me with despair and regret.
I never understood how a picture that was once so beautiful, caused me so much pain.
