Black Ice

Chills run down my spine
and goosebumps cover my flesh.
I feel it coming, I can sense its thirst
for the taste of human organs.
A hideous creature it is,
A nightmare to the monsters inside
of the worst nightmares.

Midnight wings covered with scales
and breath as black as ice.
That is what my mind is telling me
of what it looks like. My heart knows
better, it says that it is unimagineable.
As deadly as a viper.

Hiding will do no good, it always knows
where you are. Running will only make its
hunt more glorious.
Claws against bark, it's dangerously near.
Don't start running now, it's too late.
You should have followed my advice to never hide.
Because I am right behind you and
you are dead.
Still Hungry.

And now the beast hunts me after I
stole its prey. I will not hide, because the creature
is my dinner as where you were only a snack,
I know where it is, for its black ice breath
is only too familiar to me.
It reveals its hiding place as it stalks me
from the shadows.
Dinner Time.
