Battle for Words
The Samurai once said,
if you lose your honor you'll end up dead.
But there he sat, still alive.
He walks through the village
over sharp pebbles only,
while his comrades are off to battle.
His blade without an edge'
the code that once ran his life
caused his strife to walk away.
Bushido is broken, his honor gone
shamed is his family
who dares not speak to him.
Alone walks the fallen hero
yearning to scrounge up the pieces;
to start a new life.
His chance at redemption
in his battered sword lies,
he will fight for what's his.
His honor and glory
to be redeemed by his work
with a new type of weapon.
Mind over body some say;
with his pen a new battle fought,
his words a triumphant victory.
Facing the demons of dishonor
he writes to redeem his respect.
Lost in the abyss.
His name is Presutti
or Matt as some call
he will fight his battle.
The odds slim,
the future bright;
off he goes, to begin his fight.
if you lose your honor you'll end up dead.
But there he sat, still alive.
He walks through the village
over sharp pebbles only,
while his comrades are off to battle.
His blade without an edge'
the code that once ran his life
caused his strife to walk away.
Bushido is broken, his honor gone
