Before the Night of Day
Sleepy eyes popping open against the night of day.
Your gentle kisses pressed against my tenderness, keeping it safe.
With eyes like fire, glazing over me;
I shimmered like gold, happily.
In a dream, we were woven like lace;
caressing bodies and sweat glazed.
You filled my holes, the ones in my heart;
held me against your hips so I wouldn't fall apart.
It would be a lie to speak of the truth in my heart.
This pain I feel would have pulled us apart.
Too soon did I lose you, too soon did you go.
In the end, you were my high and low.
The feelings we shared,
all my untold secrets now in despair.
I came loose as I saw the look on my mother's face,
our love had vanished without a trace.
Your gentle kisses pressed against my tenderness, keeping it safe.
With eyes like fire, glazing over me;
I shimmered like gold, happily.
In a dream, we were woven like lace;
caressing bodies and sweat glazed.
You filled my holes, the ones in my heart;
held me against your hips so I wouldn't fall apart.
