Chasing Shadows
Caught in this web, an eternal maize,
Happiness seems just a passing phase.
Running in circles, cant escape the pain,
Blindfolded, deluded, never break the chain.
Barely breathing, not receiving comfort that is offered me,
Just cant grasp it, think im past the notion that i could be free.
So much here, wont disappear,
But im on the outside lookin in,
Through this looking glass memories of the past blocking light, im wearing thin.
Fleeting glimpses of the person im supposed to be,
Dancing faded shadows of another me.
Interactions cause distractions, negative influences controlling my mind,
A hazy concept of what my lifes for, behind this closed door, sensible reasoning i can not find.
The mirrors lying, make ups hiding, i give up fighting,
A smile set in stone, the one your shown, the one i own.
Rise up, keep marching onwards, this ironic motto keeps the cycle going strong,
Too much traffic moving slowly, join the clones and move along.
