The dog you abandoned

You left me bleeding on the sidewalk
on a cold and cloudy night
and I knew that you would miss me
when you'd realized, I'd died.

So I watched you leave in silence
and I didn't bark nor bite.
All the tears you couldn't cry then,
I am sure, you have them cried.

Now the times we spent together
do all vanish in the night.
As I close my eyes, a silent wish
God, let him be alright!
