Blood Suckers

It's just a smile,
A sarcastic upturn of the lip,
This punchline lost its sharpness at the tip of my tongue,
I've been bit,
I've been bit,
Spewing hot venom,
I'll lap up every word,
A forked road,
A forked tongue,
This is my liberation,
I'm cross eyed in contemplation,
If left is right,
And right is what's left,
Nothing I say will ever be blessed,
I'll take to the ground and writhe with the snakes,
Take a bite from an apple,
That's all it takes.
