The Vow

If I could marry you today, and I could find the words I wanted to say, it wouldn't be the blissfully sweet sonnet so many others display. My words would be kind, and true to a fault, each and every syllable coming straight from the heart. They'd be to you alone, as if no one else were there, they'd be about how my life grows brighter, just because you are near. My love would flow like water as I look into your eyes, and I would hold your hand, completely enjoying being alive. With every word that you speak, with every touch we share, with every bite of your lip, and every twist of your hair. You love me like no other, and I adore you to the moon, and the chance  to speak these words to you could never come too soon. I am awed by you my dear, more than you could imagine, and my love for you would span eternity regardless of what may happen. So don't you shed a tear, and you will never have to worry. I will protect you, I will support you, I will encourage you, and I will love you. Let my arms be your castle, let my chest be your place to rest, let me know all of you, and I will always give my best. So, to you this promise I make, before these witnesses we have gathered, to love you for all my days, so that never your heart may shatter. To you this pledge I make, upon this ring I give, I will hold you in the highest esteem, and will support you in all that you do. And with these final words and our shared kiss you will know how much I care for you.
