Risks
Take this drug inside your vein,
It promises to numb your pain.
Place the needle inside your arm,
Despite the fact it'll cause you harm.
Sniff this drug up your nose canals,
Bring lots of tissues and paper towels.
Your nose may bleed or drip a bit,
It's the hidden risks from using this shit,
Smoke this drug upon your stem or pipe,
Hear it sizzle and fizz as it turns clear white.
The high is fast and strong but doesn't last,
You'll begin to need it and spend all your cash,
Taste this drug upon your tongue and swallow,
Pecocets chewed up before the beer follows,
Down the hatch and anticipation falls into step,
Full with energy and high but just short of death.

And yet sometimes we come back for more. I like this poem, still reviewing it, as a recovering addict-I am not sure if your poem is from the perspective of an outsider looking in or from using yourself, still using and lost. I like it, searching for more depth.
