Happiness is Made

You say you're alone?
Convince them you need help
That life is tough, and you are week,
This here will make you stronger

We shuffle down our path, disregard the pain
The pain is a demon, a demon of shame.
This anger, regret and darkness inside.
It's unnatural they say, you'll feel normal in time.

Normal, and happy- a national standard
Those who are not are a crazy disaster
Do this, for you're crazy, it'll help, I promise
When it's over you'll be able to enjoy all the laughter.

You say you're a failure?
Tell them all of you're plans
To end all the disappointment
That this here, it will change you.

I've tried to kill the pain, my demons and move on.
I've tried the natural, the synthetic, the religious- yes it all
Some response, some was good-others, they were wrong
But what I have discovered is my true beck and call

I'm not me when I'm happy.
It's not who I can ever be.
I don't see things the way you see,
That realization was my key;
I'm just not me when I'm happy.
