The Loss of Innocence

Will you fall like all the others?
Place your hand on the bible and
Swear fealty to a false idol
Busy selling season tickets
To a blind man’s masquerade

If you can see signs stand up
And show you face to the watching
World who will forever shun you
Only for who you truly are
The countdown to the beginning

3,   4,   5,   666

You are branded
Faceless, faithless
Lost among them
A stain to them
To be shitted
And washed away
Truly hated
Less than nothing
Difference
Is an old sin
To stand outside
Welcome the storm
And fuck the world

The poor scarred thing in the mirror
You feel acceptance is the key
Feel safety’s arms embracing you
Like the touch of a dream lover
Remaining so far from your reach

Look to me in your innocence
As I preach the alternate words
Words you secretly want to hear
You kneel to me in reverence
And make me your new messiah

9,   8,   7,   666

Clouds in your hands
Reflect despair
Scars open now
For all to see
Your deepest needs
And desires
Childhood nightmares
And lullabies
Nightly aware
The voices hear
Your wracking sobs
Touch your severed
Wings in despair

Frigid coming winter
The pills are so bitter
The tepid water will
Wash away memories
Of a long lost life when
Your life was a lament
There is no time to grieve
When there is flesh to bleed
Slide the razor through skin
A missing little girl
On the wailing breeze
Finally free

Searches in the cold hard night
In places that are seldom seen
Under the light of bitter days
Soon they find a sleeping figure

Rest peacefully in your casket
Sobs coming from faceless family
As they stare at your tattooed form
Finally free of your constraints
