Reserved Revelry
Reluctantly, he handed over the key.
Persistently, he yearned for me,
Churning violently the wanton vessel
That rests atop his being.
My fleeing, an act of pure mortal terror,
A damaging error no amount of repentance can undo,
Burned my fate onto iron stones
That he skips across crystal blue rivers.
A smile laced with limerence beckons me,
Convincing my senile spirit to recover,
Absent to discover this paper key belonged
As a tool in his ornate illusion.
This conclusion? Simple at best.
His nimbleness, an attractive trait,
Lured my unsettled hunger into his fingers
Where he secured me inside and threw away the key.
