Paper Airplane
I'll make a paper airplane,
And a paper me.
So I can fly in the air,
Over a paper sea.
And I'll draw myself wings,
And have paper seams.
With a fragile life,
Based on paper dreams.
I'll draw it all in pencil,
Instead of permanent pen.
Cut out new paper mates,
In case I lose family & friends.
Everything will be grand,
Until the paper sun is gone.
But I'll have a paper shredder,
For when it all goes wrong.
And a paper me.

I like this piece a lot. Very singsong, with a veil of lightness and whimsy which overshadows deeper themes. Two little things: I believe you meant "seams", and I think the first line may sound better with a couple less syllables to match the rest of the poem, for example altering it to "I'll make a paper airplane". (Try reading it aloud and you'll realize it sounds a bit clunky as it is.) Excellent work, miss.
