All This Rain

All this rain
patter of thoughts
splashing on the eyes
sometimes blind
sometimes washed
seeing clearly
yet foggy
trying to pick out
the colors more vibrant
than gray apathy

     To paint
how I feel about this
     about you
     with me
trying to understand
     who I am
when our hands are alone
     and free
to do as they feel, as they please
           feeling you
     feeling me
knowing that what we feel
     is smooth and interesting

But yet it still seems to rain
     like poor cats and dogs
           whom cry

I'm worried about the colors
will they run away
     with all this rain?

As the drops splash in a neurotic rhythm
     against the beautifully brushed paint
           on this once empty canvas
now filled with Romeo red and Juliet violet
and other colors which could fade away
                       with all this rain...

If it never stops, if the clouds begin to funnel
if the sirens scream dooms day
                 I won't take shelter
I'll make my stand and keep on painting
                 through all this stubborn rain
           through all the bullshit roars
                 of the alpha lightning

I'll keep on sweetly painting our hands
           cute and entwined
           through all this rain...
                 this god damn rain
