It shot through me
Like an arrow
Your words were shards of ice
Piercing my heart
How can I stop loving you
After all these years?
You've been there for nine years
And now you are throwing it all away
Then here.
Take the remains
Of my broken heart
Take all of what was once my love
And give to someone else.
But know that I will move on
And that over time I will get stronger

Sometimes the right words to describe something great are not as great as the item (poem) itself
