the beast of love

It feels like someone trapped you in a lonely dark room with nothing to hear but the sound of your heart and breath that even you wish would stop. There is nothing to grasp onto and nothing to eat, but you’re not hungry because you have already eaten your self up inside and out. It’s like your stomach is going to burst and what ever is inside will smother you in the darkness until you suffocate, and the thing is that you want it to…

But when they say "yes" its as if they have opened the door and light flows in so fast that you get knocked down only to get a helping hand from the one that you loved, hated, feared, and adored for so long. It rips you apart while gently holds you together. You feel vulnerable, yet invincible. The feeling doesn’t last long though…

When it ends its like they punched you in the gut, angering the beast within, sending you back in the room only to close the door that once they opened. The thing inside you eats away at your hope, any shred of compassion until you're a life less cocoon of what you once were; sitting there, waiting for time to take its toll on you…

And it does. You get up the courage and break out of your cocoon, out of the room and into the world, spreading your wings to let the world know that you have slain the beast that has tormented you, the beast that enslaved you, the beast that made you want to end it all with one fowl swoop, the beast of love...
