days

I remember a time when i was truly happy. When a smile nearly broke my face. I carried around a wind chime during the day and a glass bottle at night. I lived in a kingdom where nobody died. It was beautiful there. I laughed until the sun melted me and apples tasted like candy bars.

Then the earth tilted and everything burned.

The fire had started from a single flame held under tin foil. The fire spread quickly through my life and soon everything around me was charcoal. I tried drawing with it but it stained my hands.

It’s been three months. I have ash in my lungs and apples taste like vinegar.
